As an experienced coach, consultant, designer and facilitator of development programmes, working with the 2gether Partnership has given me the opportunity to deepen my skills and knowledge of leading and influencing and also the opportunity to research the impact ‘conversations’ have on business performance, team performance and engagement in organisations.
Over the past twenty years I have had the opportunity to work with many different people, organisations and cultures from across the world. Time and time again, I hear how the quality of conversations makes such a difference to performance and engagement. These experiences sparked my interest in developing our ‘Authentic Conversations’ model.
I am qualified in Mediation, Negotiation and Conflict Management and also a licensed user of Myers Briggs Type Indicator. I qualified as a ‘Structural Consultant’ following a 3-year Coaching programme with Robert Fritz Inc. Vermont, USA
Leadership and Influencing
I led a programme of change to support the objectives of a County Constabulary including Leadership Development Programmes, Facilitation Skills and Change Agent Skills. The population involved civilian staff and uniformed police officers up to and including the Association of Chief Police Officers management team. The lead client commented that the interventions had “undoubtedly contributed to us being one of the highest performing Constabularies in England and Wales”.
Team and Organisation Development
A multi-national Utilities company changed its structure from a functional to a matrix design, in order to be responsive and cost efficient in a more challenging market. The client found that changing the design alone was not enough and needed help in bringing the matrix structure to life. Leaders in the business are now more able to encourage and challenge people positively to work in different ways and develop stronger relationships so they can manage the matrix more effectively
An Agro-chemical business needed Senior Scientists to develop a wider range of influencing styles rather than over relying on logic, research and data, in order to influence the business more effectively. I designed and co-facilitated a five - day intensive programme for groups of twelve to fifteen people attending over five years. Not only did their influencing skills shift, their ability to have productive performance conversations improved considerably.
